SJGF Trackchair Party!

Trackchairs are off-road wheelchairs designed to resemble and move like a tank. When using one, children who rely on wheelchairs can navigate any terrain they desire, whether it be rocky trails, uphill paths, across a creek, or simply through a grassy field! SJGF currently possess SEVEN Trackchairs (aka Tanks) within our SJGF 'fleet,' and thanks to our friends at Serve Our Willing Warriors, we were able to gather all seven Trackchair families for our exciting 1st Annual Trackchair party!

The Warrior Retreat allowed our ‘warriors’ to enjoy the grounds and spend an amazing afternoon together; making friends and memories and experiencing the freedom an all-terrain wheelchair can give.

In addition to the seven families who have been gifted a 'Tank' through SJGF, we also invited 12 additional Raindancer families whose children might enjoy taking one for a spin as well!

In addition to it just being an awesome day all around, there was also something special happening for one of our newest Raindancers! Raindancer Adrian was gifted with his very own Trackchair!

Recently I received a wonderful message from an amazing local family saying, "I recently heard about the foundation, and was deeply moved and inspired by your story, efforts, and work that you have done." Mille went on to share that her daughter, Cecilia had a Trackchair that she was unable to use due to a change in her medical condition. The next sentence brought tears to my eyes as I read it.."We would like to donate to your foundation, for your Trackchair Program if there is a recipient who would like to enjoy it." Yes, the answer for a donated Trackchair is always YES! Adrian, you are going to be UNSTOPPABLE! He is very exciting to take it fishing and hiking with his big family.

There were so many other sweet moments that made our hearts overflow. Just one of the awesome things we loved - seeing so many siblings take off, side-by-side over the grassy hills and through the woods, some of them, for the first time ever. Just simply, having a fun adventure together in the great outdoors.

Thank you to Serve Our Willing Warriors  for this awesome opportunity to bring our families together to experience the fun and freedom these chairs give!

Team SJGF + Team SOWW = A whole lotta love!

The Sweet Julia Grace Foundation serves Raindancers within an hours drive of Bristow, VA, and the surrounding areas of Hurricane, WV.

Although our Original Raindancer, Julia Grace, lived most of her 12 years in Bristow, Virginia, where her family currently resides, she was born in West Virginia, where both of her parents were born and raised. The Knight’s consider both VA and WV home, and SJGF helps Raindancers in both states.
